In January, Lauren and David Bass made a trip to Cambodia in anticipation of ministry engagement there later in 2015.

In the fall of 2014 Noy and Bill Peeler, CBF’s first field personnel appointed to Cambodia, arrived in Siem Reap to begin church planting efforts. The Peelers and the Basses will support the goal of the Cambodian Baptist Union (CBU) to plant a Baptist church in every village in Cambodia; more than 13,000 villages.

With each new church, training of church leaders is imperative.  David’s primary assignment is to develop a theological training program for these new pastors and church leaders, while Lauren will assist the new leaders with development programs for their villages and for the support of the bi-vocational ministers.

Rev. Nivath Nhem, the President of the CBU, described the church planting efforts and the responsiveness of the Cambodian people for spiritual truth, “our Jesus Film team goes into a village and shows the Jesus Film.  Afterward, they give people an opportunity to respond to the message they heard, and then we invite them to a meeting the following day.  Often, during that second meeting a group emerges that develops into a church.”

Currently David and Lauren are engaged in fund raising efforts for their ministry.  To learn more about the Basses click on the following link: Bass Ministry.
