Kyle Tubbs
New Church Starts Manager

Kyle Tubbs leads the Church Start Initiative. Kyle recruits, develops, and empowers diverse church starters across the country. He trains coaches and coordinates coaching services for church starters. He works closely with the Associate Coordinator of Congregations and Leadership and CBF State and Regional Organizations to develop and implement both short-term and long-term goals and strategies related to visioning for church starting.
Kyle came to the CBF staff after serving ten years in local churches in Texas. He was commissioned as a church starter and planted Peace of Christ Church in Round Rock, Texas. After successfully growing identity, membership, culture, and financial stability in his church start, Kyle helped transition the church to their second lead pastor this past spring. Kyle is a trained and certified coach who coached CBF church starters over the last few years. He is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (BA, 2008), Logsdon Seminary at Hardin-Simmons University (MDiv, 2010), and a doctoral candidate at Dallas Baptist University (PhD, in progress…hoping to finish soon!), in the latter stages of his dissertation. Kyle and his wife, Kaily, live in Scottdale, Georgia with Emmett (3 years old), Henry (3 months old), their lab, Kennedy (10 years old), and boxer, Karter (7 years old). They enjoy playing together as a family in public parks. When Emmett goes down for bed each night, Kaily and Kyle are captivated by reruns of The Office as if they are watching it for the first time.
Harry Rowland
Associate Coordinator of Congregations and Leadership

Harry joined CBF in 2006 after pastoring local congregations for 25 years. He served churches in Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky and his last church 12 years in Beaufort, S.C. His local church experience consists of leading a student ministry at a 3000 member church, pastoring a mission church which grew from 75 to 400 in attendance in four years and pastoring a 1500 member church with a 200 year history. He has coordinated over 45 church mission engagements; developed million dollar ecumenical, civic and governmental asset-based community development initiatives; and led his church to start four new church starts within his church’s local context.
Harry’s passion for contextual, organic visioning and moving the local church into holistic, sustainable engagement both in their local context and globally led CBF to ask Harry to come direct the Missional Church Initiative. This has taken on different forms, collaboratively relating to both Missions and Ministries. Some of the resulting outcomes are Church Mission Engagement Networks, A New Church Starts Discernment Cohort, and the Dawnings Spiritual Renewal/Visioning Initiative. Moreover, with Stephen Reeves and Ruth Perkins Lee, he coordinates the work of the CBF Ministries Department and works with the Ministries Council.
